Fashion

I have been creating garments and fashion designs for a little over six years now.  Over this time, I have grown to love creating unique pieces that are one of a kind.  Below are just some of the many pieces I have created during throughout the years.

High-Low Halter Dress

I started by creating a pattern for the dress and then sample of the dress out of muslin.  After making sure that the measurements were right and no adjustments needed to be made, I went one to cut out the pieces from the dress fabric's.  I slowly put together the dress, trying it on throughout the process to ensure no adjustments needed to be made before finishing the hems.

Doubled Strap, Lace-Up Dress

I started by creating a pattern for this piece.  Once the pattern was created I cut out the pieces in muslin to create a sample dress for adjustments and to see the overall fit.  Once adjustments were made and I was satisfied with the fit, I moved on to cut out the pieces in the dress fabrics.  When attaching the straps to the dress I experienced some difficulties in determining if they were the right length (so that they were not too big or too tight).  After have measuring and stitching and re-stitching I was able to overcome this problem and finish the dress.

Collared Blouse

When creating this piece, I started by creating a sample piece out of muslin.  This allowed me to see how the piece fit and if I needed to take in or out fabric anywhere.  Once I finished doing this, I cut out my piece in the linin fabric and starting putting together the piece slowly.  I made sure to try on the piece in between putting it together to ensure the measurements were right and the piece fit correctly.  After finishing the piece, I was very satisficed with the outcome.  I thought it wouldn't be flattering on me and thought it wouldn't go with other pieces in my collection.  In the end, I ended up loving the piece and was able to create a collection with it.

Cross Body/Shoulder Bag

When making this bag I started by creating a pattern based on the way I wanted the bag to look.  After I finished creating the pattern, I cut out the pieces in the fabric and started the sew the bag together.  For the strap, I took strips of fabric and braided them together to from a thick and sturdy strap.  After I finished creating the bag, I was really happy with the outcome because I can pair this bag with lots of clothes and even use it as a beach bag.
